Hello Brown Bag fans! Mark your calendars for this year’s Brown Bag Concert Series the week of August 7 – 11 at Exchange Place Plaza. The Brown Bag Concert Series is a summer music series offering free concerts in downtown Salt Lake City locations. For 39 years this program has supported local performing artists in music, dance, and cultural celebrations through engaging lunchtime concerts that contribute to making Salt Lake a vibrant community.

We will continue our partnership with Spy Hop’s 801 Sessions to present this program. The 801 Sessions students will be responsible for curating and selecting, promoting, and executing the concerts for that week. We are very excited for the opportunity to continue this partnership, and along with Spy Hop, to help support and foster youth in the experience of presenting and developing the arts and arts programming.

This year’s Brown Bag Concert Series is shorter than past years. The Salt Lake City Arts Council is in the process of creating and implementing a strategic plan for the organization that will guide our work over the next three years. As a part of this process, we are working to gather community feedback, create ways to engage our audience, and re-envision what our arts and cultural programming looks like in the future.
