As we welcome the fall and pumpkin spice everything, the Salt Lake City Arts Council could not be more excited to start talking about the Holiday Craft Market! Believe it or not, in just 2 short months over 90 artists will be selling their work again at the Finch Lane Gallery.  If you are a new or returning artist now is the time to submit an Interest Form, the deadline is this Friday, September 28th.

The process is a little different this year.  Interested artists must submit an Interest Form that provides biographical information material, product description, images of products, and contact information.  The form must be completed by everyone — even if you have participated in previous years, this information must be submitted by Friday to participate.

Salt Lake City has an amazing culture for supporting our local artists and makers. From the various farmers markets, Craft Lake City, and all of the festivals in between, many get their small business started at these local events. These events also provide a valuable opportunity to meet buyers in person and get more immediate feedback on what you’re making.

One thing that makes the Holiday Craft Market unique is that only Utah vendors are allowed to contribute. It’s part of the Salt Lake Arts Council’s commitment to invest in our local arts community and foster long term growth. The market features jewelry, ceramics, textiles, artwork, prints and letterpress items, art glass, holiday decorations, items for the home, and artisan foods. All items must be original, handmade, unique, or repurposed/upcycled, and produced locally.

“We have this incredible arts and craft community,” says Kelsey Ellis Assistant Director of the Salt Lake Arts Council, “but at the same time, I think many people don’t realize just how much talent we have here. The arts and crafts scene in Salt Lake City rivals any major U.S. city. Part of our mission is to make the community aware of and invest in our local artists. We’re excited for the 2018 market.”

Are you ready to start selling your art? Interest Forms are due THIS WEEK. Click here to submit your information. It’s time to get some new exposure, be a part of the 2018 holiday season, and celebrate our talented, local crafting community.
